Man charged in stabbing is incompetent to stand trial

LAWTON, Okla._A man charged with second-degree murder is found mentally incompetent to stand trial.

Alexandrake Haney was charged with second-degree murder for killing Ulric Adams in May 2015. A judge has ordered Haney to be taken to a state mental health facility for treatment.

According to documents filed Friday, Haney is unable to help his attorneys with his defense, or understand the charges against him. The court order also states that Haney could regain competency with proper treatment, and should that occur, he will be returned to Comanche County to face trial.

Investigators believe Haney stabbed Ulric Adams to death. The victim's body was found near Haney's apartment at Southwest Second and Ferris.

Police found bloody clothes in Hanes' apartment, and DNA tests confirmed the blood was that of the victim.  At the time of his arrest in May, investigators said Haney had been previously diagnosed as bi-polar and schizophrenic.
