No injuries after vehicle drives onto playground

LAWTON, Okla._A distracted driver careened off the road and drove onto a playground Friday morning in Lawton.

Police said the driver was west on Gore near Main Street when she reached down to grab something and left the road. The truck hopped a curb, went through a fence and onto a playground at the Douglass Learning Center. It eventually crashed into one of the play sets.

Authorities said there were no children on the playground when the accident happened and the driver was not hurt.

    Learning to work together. That was the goal of a networking reception today, joining together nonprofits from southwest Oklahoma. The reception was held at the Youth Services of Stephens County.  The guest of honor was Jerry Wright - who is the director of the Oklahoma Center for Nonprofits. Wright is responsible for helping nonprofits all across the southern part of the state. He answers any questions about budget, legal advice, and others.
