LAWTON, Okla._The 36th Annual International Festival kicks off Friday evening in Elmer Thomas Park.
The three-day festival will feature a variety food from all over the world, music, dancing, crafts and much more. Nicole Adams runs Good to Geaux Catering. She said the event is not just an opportunity to experience other cultures. She said it is a way for people to connect.
"We always enjoy doing it, it's our passion, we enjoy feeding people, the camaraderie and when people patronize us we want it to be an experience, not just 'Here's your food now give me your money.' We want to connect with them, love on them, we want them to feel our food is from the soul because it is," said Adams.
The International Festival will begin at 5:45 p.m. with the Parade of Nations and a naturalization ceremony. Parking and admission is free.
