2nd day of Lawton's International Festival

LAWTON, Okla._Despite the threat of rain Saturday, thousands still flocked to Elmer Thomas for the city's 36th Annual International Festival.

Dance, music and of course food have been bringing people by the droves since Friday.

For many families attending this event is tradition, and for volunteers like Colin To, it's a great opportunity learn about other cultures and to be around friends.

"It's a great place for you and your friends to go hang out, so it's like another thing to do. And they have great food to eat and the entertainment is pretty cool," To said.

Each year the three-day event helps promote greater awareness and appreciation of Lawton’s diverse heritage.

Saturday’s festivities will conclude until 10 o'clock p.m. Then again Sunday from noon until 5 p.m.
