Oklahoma attorney general takes role in Bush campaign

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Republican presidential hopeful Jeb Bush says Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt will serve in a national role for his campaign in 2016.

The former Florida governor announced in a press release Tuesday that Pruitt will serve as the campaign's national chairman of federal-state relations.

In that role, Pruitt will lead a group dubbed the "Restoring Federalism Task Force."

Elected as part of a Republican wave in Oklahoma in 2010, Pruitt has made fighting the federal government in court a centerpiece of his administration.

He created a federalism unit within the office and has filed numerous lawsuits against the federal government over the Affordable Care Act and environmental, banking and immigration regulations.

Pruitt also sued Colorado over that state's legalization of marijuana.

Bush attended a fundraiser Tuesday morning in Oklahoma City.
