Traffic stop lands convicted robber in jail

LAWTON, Okla._A traffic stop for an expired tag in Lawton led to the arrest of a convicted robber on drug and weapons charges.

Police arrested Lorenzo Magwood Wednesday morning after stopping the car he was riding in. The driver allowed police to search the car, where they found marijuana, cocaine, a digital scale and a loaded pistol. Magwood told police had served time in Florida and a background check confirmed his conviction on a robbery charge. A search on the gun revealed it had been stolen from the Oklahoma Chiefs of Police Association.

Magwood was booked into the City jail on four complaints, including drug possession and possession of stolen property.
