Cache man leads police on high-speed chase

CACHE, Okla._A convicted felon on a motorcycle led police on a high-speed chase throughout Comanche County Friday afternoon.

Cache Police Chief Donna Kimmel says it started around 1:00 p.m. when she tried to stop Jeremy Tahmahkera at West "E" Avenue and 10th Street for driving without a license plate. Tahmahkera sped away and then quickly stopped and brandished a knife before taking off again.

Multiple law enforcement agencies joined the chase with speeds reaching 130 mph.

They chased Tahmahkera for 25 minutes, zigzagging through Indiahoma and Cache. Chief Kimmel says at one point, Tahmahkera ran a road block and threw what appeared to be drugs from the bike. Tahmahkera eventually crashed at Baseline Road and Railroad Street. He was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Once released, he will be booked into the Comanche County Detention Center on several complaints, including eluding a police officer and driving under suspension.
