Artists and food producers go head-to-head

LAWTON, Okla._Artists and foodies battled it out Saturday to see who could walk away with the grand prize in the 2nd Annual Art Battle, and Food Fight. The Great Plains Technology Center acted as the battle ground for today's competitions.

Artists of all ages from across the nation showed of their best creations to compete for the title of "Lawton’s Favorite Artist,” and five food producers brought in an innovative food product that they want to see in stores. Organizer pat beck says competition was fierce as there was a big prize at stake for the cooks.

"The winner of the food fight is going to get a package from OSU to help them upscale their product to be a commercially viable product. It's a $1500 package, so that's on top of the cash prizes that they're going to walk away with," Beck said.

The winner of the food fight also won about $1200 cash, and the top artist's work will have the opportunity to be put on display at Arvest Bank, Citi National Bank, and the Lawton Community Theater.
