Oklahoma granted extension to comply with Real ID Act

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla._The Department of Homeland Security granted Oklahoma a one-year extension in order to comply with the Real ID Act.

This means Oklahomans will still be able to use their state-issued driver's license or ID card to access military bases and most federal facilities. The TSA will also continue to accept those cards. The Real ID Act is an effort to create a standard for all state IDs to make them harder to duplicate.

Oklahoma now has until October 10, 2016, to meet those standards.
