Game wardens search for poacher

CADDO COUNTY, Okla._ The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation is searching for a shooter, after an elk calf was poached.

The elk was shot, Friday evening between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. just south of Boone, in Caddo County.

The young bull calf was approximately 60 yards from the road, and was shot with a rifle.  Two vehicles were seen in the area, around the time of the incident, and one has been identified.

The second vehicle is a white Chevy or GMC SUV with Texas license plate.

Anyone with information about this incident, is encouraged to contact Operation Game Thief at 1-800-522-8039.

Callers may remain anonymous and could receive up to a $500 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
