LFD goes 2-0 in charity softball games

LAWTON, Okla._Lawton police and firefighters went head-to-head this weekend in what proved to be some intense charity softball games.

In past years, the fire department has dominated their annual basketball game. Even with a change of sport, this year's scores didn't swing in the police department's favor,  the as they lost the first game 21-14.

However, LPD did put up a fight in the second game, going into extra innings, but couldn’t pull out a win. They lost game two 16-15.

Win or lose, both teams walked away with more than $650. The police department plans to donate their share to the Officer Down Memorial and the fire department will donate to Operation Warm.
