Neighborhood Watch thanks law enforcement

LAWTON, Okla._Local law enforcement agencies and first responders were shown how much the community appreciates all that they do with a chili lunch Saturday.

Several Lawton neighborhood watch groups put on the event to get to know the officers who help keep their communities safe, and to pass thanks for putting their lives at risk. Neighborhood watch plays a large part in spotting crime in Lawton, and president of the Sullivan Village group, Mary Bailey said the relationship with the Lawton Police Department is joint effort.

"They come every time we call, and a lot of our eyes, we can watch the people while they're on their way out here," Bailey said.

Bailey said they try to give back as often as they can. If you're interested in starting a neighborhood watch you can contact the Lawton Police Department.
