Arrested: Comanche man drives through yards, hits fence and tree

COMANCHE, Okla._A Comanche man is in the Stephens County Jail after he was arrested for drunk driving and police found out he had a warrant for breaking and entering.

Sheriff's deputies arrested 25-year-old Ashton Ennis Sunday morning. According to a court affidavit, witnesses reported Ennis was driving drunk near a neighborhood in southern Stephens County. A witness told police he drove through two yards before hitting a fence and a tree. Another witness and his wife saw what happened and tried to tell Ennis to get off the road because he was going to hurt someone, but they claim Ennis then put his truck in reverse and nearly hit them.

The affidavit states Ennis also drove to a nearby Kwik Mart twice. The owner there described Ennis' behavior and backed it up with surveillance video.

When police caught up with Ennis, they found severe damage to his truck and he admitted to police he had been drinking. Ennis also agreed to take a blood test to check his blood-alcohol content.

He was booked on DUI, a suspended license and transporting an open container of alcohol.
