Community celebrates Duncan High's finished renovation

DUNCAN, Okla._Students, teachers, and alumni came to Duncan High Thursday afternoon to celebrate the completion of a huge renovation project.

The project was funded by a $17-million bond and took 18-months to complete. New additions to the school include a library, college student union-style cafeteria, a new main office, and much more. During Thursday's celebration, the bond advisory committee was honored. The committee is made up of community members and school staff that helped guide the project from idea to finished project.

"We greatly appreciate the community's support and because we believe that the school district belongs to the community it was important for use to celebrate with everyone tonight," Duncan Public Schools Superintendent Melonie Hau said.

Superintendent Hau also says students are excited to learn in a brand new place and were grateful to be involved in the celebration.
