Bowling for adoption awareness

LAWTON, Okla._Churches, organizations, and businesses hosted a bowling tournament today in celebration of national adoption awareness month.

One church, One child of Oklahoma is a non-profit organization working with the Oklahoma Department of Human Services in recruitment of families who have a desire to share their homes and their lives with the children who are in need of a forever home.  Organizers from One church, One child believe if just one family from one church adopted one child, thousands of children would get the life they deserve.

"They want to be able to call a place their own. They want loving parents and possibly loving siblings that they can play with and just live a normal life as an ordinary child," said Charles Ellington, One Church, One Child recruiter.

One church one child is a special nationally recognized recruitment program designed to identify prospective homes for African-American children in the state of Oklahoma.
