Reports: 2 convenience stores robbed early Tuesday in Lawton

LAWTON, Okla._ We're working to get more information on two convenience store robberies in Lawton early Tuesday morning.

7NEWS ran into officers around 1:30 a.m. at the Stripes at 53rd and Cache Road. They were not allowing anyone in the business due to a robbery. A few minutes later they were called to the Stripes at 67th and Cache Road for the same thing. Both robberies happened during the overnight storms. We're getting reports the police dispatching system went down for a couple of hours due to lightning and officers had to use cell phones to communicate. We've made calls to the department overnight, but so far have not heard back from a supervisor.
