Police search for convenience store robber

LAWTON, Okla._Police investigate two convenience stores robberies overnight Monday.

The two crimes happened just 15 minutes apart, and it appears the same man pulled off both of them. The first happened around 1:15 pm at the stripes store at 53rd Street and Cache Road. The clerk said a black man, who appeared to be wearing a dreadlocks wig, pulled out a gun and demanded money.  After the robber took the cash, he ran out of the store. The clerk could not see if he went to a getaway car.

But 15 minutes later, a man fitting the same description, did the same thing at the stripes store at 67th Street and Cache Road. Neither clerk was harmed during the robberies. The thief is described as a black man, around 5’7”, 200 pounds.

Investigators will review surveillance video to try and get more clues about the robber.
