Suspect arrested in Arlington officer shooting

DALLAS (AP) _ Dallas police say a suspect has been arrested in the wounding of an undercover Arlington officer as gunfire broke out during a task force operation.

Edgar Solorzano is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after his arrest and awaited booking Friday into the Dallas County jail. The Arlington officer was shot early Thursday while trying to place trying to make an arrest in an undisclosed investigation. The wounded officer was transported to a Dallas hospital and police say he's expected to recover. Police are withholding his name and further details on his injuries because he works undercover.
