LAWTON, Okla._The gymnasium at the Lawton Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club is being transformed into a dining hall as they prepare to host their annual Thanksgiving meal.
"It's a way for us to thank God for our blessings, as well as to reflect on everything that has happened this year and to be able to give back to our community that has supported us through the year," Capt. Israel Roseno, Lawton Salvation Army, said.
Last year, they served more than 350 people. Captain Roseno says all the food was donated. There will be turkey, macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes and more.
The meal starts at 11:30 a.m. Thursday and ends at 2:30 p.m. The Boys and Girls Club is at Southwest 13th Street and 'E' Avenue. It is free and open to everyone.
The Altus Salvation Army will also host their Thanksgiving dinner Thursday afternoon. The dinner is open to everyone and will be held at the Fellowship Hall of the Salvation Army at 1100 N Park Ln.
