LAWTON, Okla._The 2015 Salvation Army Angel Tree kicks off at 10:00 a.m. Black Friday at Central Mall.
Each year, the Salvation Army takes applications from families that meet certain requirements a few weeks before Thanksgiving and then sets up an 'Angel Tree.' Each angel ornament has the name of a child along with clothing and shoe sizes and a few toys the child hopes to receive. Requested toys range from bicycles and basketballs to educational toys.
Generous shoppers can go to Central Mall in front of Old Navy starting 10:00 a.m. Friday and adopt one or more of around 750 children. Members from the Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary will be there from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Sundays until December 18.
