Fort Sill serves Thanksgiving feast

FORT SILL, Okla._Soldiers, veterans and their families all gathered on Fort Sill for a grand Thanksgiving feast.

The Thanksgiving lunch gave service members new and old, and their dependents, a fresh, hot meal with all the Thanksgiving staples. Food preparations were days in the making and it all paid off. For retired Major Calvin Hale, the feast was an opportunity to connect with today's service members, something he's truly thankful for.

"We made it a habit of coming out here every year for the last ten years to have Thanksgiving with the soldiers. We're very thankful for them and the service they perform. This is great here, and we appreciate Fort Sill and what they do for the community," Hale said.

Everyone agreed the meal was a great time for soldiers and veterans to give thanks for what they have, as well as who they trying to protect.
