Veterans help trim Christmas tree

LAWTON, Okla._Bikers came out to celebrate Christmas a little early at the Lawton-Fort Sill Veterans Center Saturday morning.

The Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association held their annual tree decoration at the center near Lee and Flower Mound. Veterans trimmed the trees with candy canes and lights that will be up for display through the holidays. Combat veteran William Clark says he wants the veterans at the center to know that their service to their country is never forgotten and that they will always have the U.S. military as family.

"During the holidays we find that, that is when people feel the loneliest if they don't have family so we are an extended family for everyone that's a resident here. We will come and we will visit them because if they don't have their own family to come do it well we are going to step in," said Clark.

The association visits the center regularly throughout the year to make donations of toiletries and to talk with the residents.
