Filing period closes for February elections

LAWTON, Okla._The filing period ended Wednesday for local elections coming up in February.

In the race for Lawton's Ward 7 spot on the City Council, V Gay Freeman McGahee is running to stay in the seat. She was appointed to the position after the death of former Councilman Stanley Haywood. Jesse Robert Cross, Sheila S. Olsen and Sherene L. Williams have all filed to run for the position as well.

In the election for the LPS school board, Carla Clodfelter and Donna Ronio are running for the five-year term. Ronio is the incumbent.
