Silver Alert canceled: Comanche County woman found alive

COMANCHE COUNTY, Okla._The elderly woman who went missing Thursday evening has been found.

"It's like winning the jackpot when you see that there she is and she's alive," Sheriff Kenny Stradley said.

Authorities found 93-year-old Zella Perdew late Friday afternoon. She was reported missing after she left her home on Meers-Porter Hill Road to walk her poodle around 5:30 p.m. Thursday. She never returned, prompting officials to issue a Silver Alert.

The Comanche County Sheriff's Department worked overnight with tribal police and OHP to search for her, even bringing in a helicopter. Thankfully, that helicopter led to her rescue.

She was found about a mile away from her home in southern Sisters Creek with her poodle sitting in her lap.

Officials say Perdew suffers from dementia and she might have wandered and gotten lost Thursday night.

Perdew and her dog are doing just fine.
