Lawton man apologizes during armed robbery

LAWTON, Okla._Police arrested a Lawton man after a simple sale became an armed robbery.

Police say Anthony Wicker met an old high school acquaintance on the south side of Central Mall to sell an iPhone 6. But when the woman gave him the money and got the phone, she found that all of his contacts and data were still on the phone. When she questioned him about this, police say Wicker pulled a gun on her and said he regretted having “to do this to her, but he needed the money.”

Wicker then forced the woman from his truck, keeping the phone and the money. The woman called police, who quickly tracked Wicker to his home and waited there until he showed up and arrested him.

He's was booked on a complaint of first-degree robbery.
