Angel Tree deadline quickly approaching

LAWTON, Okla._If you adopted an angel from the Salvation Army's Angel Tree in Lawton's Central Mall, the deadline is Monday at 9:00 p.m. to drop those gifts off at the table in front of Old Navy.

While all of the Lawton-Fort Sill angels were adopted, 225 of them still haven't been returned. If you were unable to purchase gifts, monetary donations can still be made for those angels.

Captain Claudia Roseno of the Lawton Salvation Army says the community has been very generous this year with their gift-giving.

"It's very heartwarming to know that they have all been adopted, but it is very nerve-wracking because they haven't all been returned. Families are going be lining up at our door Friday morning early expecting a gift for their children," Capt. Roseno said.

If you don't have time to drop off your gifts Monday night, you can take them to the Boys and Girls Club in Lawton at Southwest 'F' Avenue and 13th Street between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Tuesday.
