2 taken to hospital after wreck on interstate

GERONIMO, Okla._A vehicle wreck sent two people to the hospital Wednesday afternoon and constricted northbound highway traffic.

The wreck happened just after 2:00 p.m. on Interstate 44 near the Geronimo-Faxon exit. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the driver was headed south on the interstate when she lost control and crossed the center cable barrier before coming to rest in the northbound lane.

The driver and a passenger were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Still no word on what caused the driver to leave the road.

One northbound lane was shut down for an hour and 20 minutes.
