1 arrested in neighborhood shooting

LAWTON, OK (KSWO) -Police are investigating an afternoon shooting in Lawton that ended in a man's arrest.

Officers were called out to a home on Northwest 14th Street and Logan Avenue around 1:30 p.m. They say there was some type of altercation and a man fired a couple rounds. No one was hit, but he got in his car and drove off.

A nearby officer caught up with Kevin McGill just a few blocks away and pulled him over. The officer found the gun used in the shooting inside his car and arrested him on a complaint of felony discharge of a firearm.

    An overnight house fire in Altus remains under investigation and authorities are calling it suspicious. The fire broke out just before four this morning at this home on the 1100 block of Chestnut Street. It was engulfed by the time firefighters arrived. Officials are working to determine what started the fire. They say the home is a total loss.
