LAWTON, OK (KSWO) -In the Christmas spirit, the First Baptist Church gathered in Union Park to provide a free meal, toys and food for anyone in the community.

The 5th annual Christmas Eve Feed was organized and funded by two members of the First Baptist Church’s congregation. On the menu: hamburgers, hot dogs and beans.

Dan Horton, one of the organizers, says he saw there wasn't enough help offered to meet the needs in our community, so he decided to step up and do something about it.

"There's people that have come to us at this that said, ‘You know, we are glad you had this today that we didn’t have any food in our home today,’" Horton said.

The Christmas Eve Feed provided more than 100 food boxes. Horton says it was a great turn out and he hopes to continue the event for years to come.
