LAWTON, OK (KSWO) -Police are investigating a robbery in a Lawton motel parking lot Tuesday.

They were called out to the Relax Inn on Northwest Cache Road around 1 p.m. after it was reported that shots were fired in the area.

A man told police that two people drove into the parking lot as he was walking to his room. He said they beat him, then went into his room and stole some of his things before driving off. He admitted to police that he shot at the men as they drove off.

A few hours later, police pulled over a car matching the description of the accused robbers. They were arrested on unrelated drug and gun charges.

Police say they claimed they were stealing what the man originally stole from him.
