KAW LAKE, OK (KSWO) –After a week of searching Kaw Lake for missing country singer Craig Strickland, his body has been found.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol found the body of Craig M. Strickland the morning of Jan. 4. His body was found within the original search area of Bear Creek Cove.

Strickland and a friend, Chase R. Morland, went duck hunting at Kaw Lake before the winter storm hit. They were reported missing after their boat capsized on Sunday, Dec. 27. Morland’s body was found Monday, and Strickland’s dog, Sam, was found alive.

Before the hunting trip, Morland tweeted they would be duck hunting during Winter Storm Goliath.

OHP used side scanning boats, a helicopter, Cessna, search and rescue dogs and search teams.
