Wichita County added to Texas disaster list

WICHITA FALLS, TX (KSWO) -Wichita County has been added to the Texas Disaster Declaration list following the late December storms that claimed at least 11 lives.

The declaration was signed Dec. 31, four days after the declaration for four other counties was announced. It means the counties are now eligible for government disaster help.

Tornadoes and other severe weather pounded areas of North Texas on Dec. 27. Experts say the weather caused more than $1 billion of insured damage in the state.
