LAWTON, OK (KSWO) -Newborn babies at are getting a warm hat to take home this winter.
The hats were made with love by a group of women who call themselves "Warm Hearts, Warm Heads." They've spent the past year knitting the hats at the Center for Creative Living, and the hats were given to babies in the Neonatal Intensive-Care Unit at Comanche County Memorial Hospital Friday.
"Everybody just loves them. Parents especially love them. And the hospital, one of the nurses just came out and said how much she just really appreciated it," said Lorene Miller, Center for Creative Living's executive director.
Miller says it's something they've done every year for the past several years. They also knitted adult hats, which were donated to the Cancer Centers of Southwest Oklahoma. Other hats were taken to Southwestern Medical Center so everyone could stay warm.
