LAWTON, OK (KSWO) -Lawton police are on the hunt for the man who led authorities on brief chase, evading capture along the way.

Police say officers responded to reports that Justin Collins, who has felony warrants out of Comanche County, was spotted in near Northwest 5th Street and Bell Avenue. When police arrived and approached Collins' car, he kept driving and led police on short chase.

Collins eventually parked his car in a home’s driveway and took off on foot, managing to avoid police capture and escape. Police are still searching for Collins, but stress to the public to stay indoors if you see them in your neighborhood.

"Well, I know that a person's first reaction, as is mine, when you hear sirens in your neighborhood is you're going to jump up and go outside to see what's going on. But we would ask if you see this amount of police officers in your neighborhood, you know they're there for a reason, so the best thing is to go in your house, lock the door for your safety until we deem it safe for you to come back out," explained Det. Nancy Lombardo, Lawton Police Department’s public information officer.

Collins is described as a white male, about 5’4” and weighs about 130 pounds.

If you have any information on Collins' whereabouts, call Crime Stoppers at 580-355-4643.
