LAWTON, OK (KSWO) - With Girl Scout cookie selling season around the corner, Girl Scouts spent the day sharpening their cookie selling skills.
About 200 girls came by the Great Plains Coliseum Saturday to learn about the dos and don'ts of cookie selling. They went around to different stations for money management, safety rules and goal setting.
Elgin Girl Scout troop leader Leiann Palmer says this event is more than just a cookie sales kick-off.
"We want our girls to get excited for cookie sales, and we also want them to know what they're doing, how this business of selling cookies actually helps our troops," said Palmer.
Palmer says they are learning business skills that the girls can use later in life. Even while the cookie selling has gone digital by giving you the option of ordering them online, the girls still sell the cookies to family and friends and have booths in front of stores.
