LAWTON, OK (KSWO) –A Sterling mother won’t spend any time in jail after her baby was born with methamphetamine withdrawals.

Amanda Page was charged with child neglect after she went into labor Oct. 10, 2014, and gave birth prematurely. Her daughter, weighing only 3 pounds 3 ounces at birth, was flown to OU Medical Center where doctors say the child suffered from methamphetamine withdrawals.

Investigators say Page was 30 weeks pregnant when she ingested meth. The drug caused her to go into labor more than a month ahead of her due date.

Page pleaded guilty to the charge of child neglect on Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2015. She was given a five-year deferred sentence and fined $1,000.
