MEDICINE PARK, OK (KSWO) –The 18th annual Medicine Park Polar Bear Plunge is set for Saturday afternoon.
We're forecasting a cool 57 degrees as the high for Saturday, Feb. 6, as at least 100 people are expected to make the plunge.
Starting at noon, most jumpers start showing up in Medicine Park before they make the march through town to Bath Lake at 2 p.m. Santa finishes his countdown and everyone jumps in. Everyone includes: Santa, Vikings, chickens, tutu-wearers and a plethora of other costumed and non-costumed plungers.
Some stay and swim while others hardly make a splash before trying to get out of the cold water as fast as possible.
If you haven't done so already, download the SkyWARN 7 weather app to get the most up to date weather information before plunging this weekend.
