School zone collision leads to drug confession

LAWTON, OK (KSWO)-A school zone collision Friday afternoon led to a man's drug confession to police.

Police say Daniel Batten rear-ended a car that was stopped in the left-turn lane, waiting to turn onto Ferris from 11th Street. Police say Batten was turned around talking to a baby in the back seat when the accident happened. Police say Batten had a hard time focusing on their questions and balancing himself, leading investigators to believe he was under the influence of drugs or alcohol. After a blood alcohol breath test measured zero, he told police he had smoked spice, and said he didn't think it was bad or illegal.

Batten is facing multiple charges, including driving with a revoked license.
