LAWTON, OK (KSWO) –Lawton firefighters responded to three fires back to back over the weekend.

The first fire broke out Saturday around 9 p.m. on the 5800 block of Northwest Kinyon Avenue. Firefighters say a dog and cat died in the fire.

Around 2 a.m. Sunday, firefighters were called to an unoccupied apartment at Copper Ridge Apartments in Building C on Northwest Motif Manor. When firefighters arrived they could see smoke and flames coming from a breezeway window.

Then just after 4 a.m., firefighters were called back out to another apartment at the same complex that was on fire after a police officer saw smoke. The building was evacuated and no one was injured.

The Lawton Fire Marshal’s Office is waiting for the results of samples that were taken from the fires that are being tested by the OSBI.

They’re asking anyone with information on these fires to call Lawton Crime Stoppers at 580-355-INFO (4636).
