Duncan Middle School evacuated due to threat

DUNCAN, OK (KSWO) –Duncan Middle School was evacuated Tuesday afternoon after a bomb threat was called in.

All of the students were evacuated and taken to the Simmons Center across the street while police search the school. The threat was called in before 1 p.m.

Duncan Public Schools says students will remain at the Simmons Center until they are given the "all clear" from emergency personnel. DPS says if parents feel the need to pick up their children, they will need to check them out from the Simmons Center's main desk.

Students were dismissed at 2:45 p.m. and police continued to search the school. A bomb sniffing dog was called in around 4:30 p.m. and they gave the "all clear" about an hour later.
