LAWTON, OK (KSWO) –Saturday, Feb. 13, the Apache Casino Hotel will host the third annual Mardi Gras Gala.

The event is being put on by CASA and will feature a five-course Cajun meal, a silent auction, door prizes and live music. All of the money raised from the event will be used by CASA to fund program expansion and volunteer training.

CASA, Court Appointed Special Advocates, is an organization that aims to help foster kids in the area.

Wilma Whittaker, the executive director for CASA of Southwest Oklahoma, says the event helps the organization accomplish their goals.

"Our primary goal is to get these children out of the child welfare system and into permanent loving and stable homes where they can thrive. And until that goal is reached, the CASA volunteer remains on the case throughout the life of the case," Whittaker explained.

The silent auction will feature several items, including a football signed by OU football coach Bob Stoops, a football signed by the entire OSU football team and two Thunder tickets.

The Mardi Gras Gala is at the Apache Casino Hotel from 6 p.m. until midnight and costs $50 per ticket.
