LAWTON, OK (KSWO) –The Lawton local chapter of the NAACP is celebrating its Founders Day.

For 107 years, the NAACP has fought for justice and equality for all Americans. Members of the Lawton chapter gathered Friday to celebrate the history of the organization and the freedom it has provided.

“Freedom to speak, freedom to vote, freedom to have jobs that we have never had before. Thank God from which we have come. We have come a long ways but we still have a long way to go,” said Bettye Gains, NAACP member.
