OKLAHOMA CITY, OK (KSWO) - An anti-abortion bill that affects Oklahoma's public schools has advanced in the state legislature.
A house subcommittee supports a bill that requires schools to tell high school students that life begins at conception. Teachers would have to detail how a fetus develops at certain stages of a pregnancy. The bill's sponsor is Representative Ann Coody of Lawton. She says even if the measure becomes law, it could not be implemented this year, due to budget constraints. Opponents wanted a sex education component included.
