WASHINGTON, DC (KSWO) –Jefferson County Rural Water District #1 was recognized on a national level for the taste of their water.
The water district was named "best tasting" in Oklahoma April 2015. Now, for the first time in Oklahoma history, water from the Sooner State has placed at the National Rural Water Rally in Washington, DC.
The water district walked away with 2nd place in the national water taste contest.
The district uses a mix of approximately 95 percent well water and five percent is water coming from Waurika Lake.
