LAWTON, OK (KSWO) –A Lawton woman's bicycle, her only form of transportation, was stolen outside her workplace Tuesday.

A day later, Lawton Police Sgt. Allison Bray stunned her with a gift.

"This is for you. Your story was really touching to us. So, on behalf of Walmart and the Lawton Police Department, we wanted to present you with a new bike so you can get to work," Sgt. Bray said to the woman.

Sergeant Bray took the original report about the stolen bike, and she immediately reached out to her fellow officers for help in finding a replacement. Detective Bobby Whittington called Walmart and got them to donate a brand new bike and a lock to keep it safe.

The woman says the bike is a lifesaver, and will make it easier to cover the two-mile trek from home to work.
