LAWTON, OK (KSWO) –An attempt to pull over a man for a seat belt violation led to a slow-speed pursuit through Lawton.

A Lawton police officer tried to pull over 27-year-old Timothy Zimmerman around 7:34 a.m. Thursday for a seat belt violation. Instead of pulling over at Northeast Flower Mound Road and Gore Boulevard, Zimmerman led the officer on a slow-speed pursuit until he finally stopped on the 6900 block of Southwest Forrest Avenue, more than seven miles away.

Once he finally stopped, Zimmerman was arrested for not using his seat belt, eluding police, reckless driving and for two outstanding warrants. The warrants were for attempted robbery and domestic abuse.
