LAWTON, OK (KSWO) -Cameron University hosted its 19th annual Red River Career Expo Thursday.

The event featured 70 employers and was open to all students, alumni and members of the community. The City of Lawton, Lawton Police Department, Cameron University and KSWO were some of the many employers at the expo.

Career services coordinator Jordan Scribner says hundreds of people came out to the fair aimed at helping people in the community find jobs, internships and just network and meet people in the professional world.

"It's important for students because obviously they're here to get a degree and they want to do something with their degree. So, it's important for them to find opportunities where they can get experience or just expand what they've learned here on campus," Scribner said.

Scribner says she was extremely proud of the number of students and community members who came out to the expo.
