CU homecoming golf cart parade

LAWTON, OK (KSWO)- Cameron University students and citizens were invited to experience the excitement of the university's homecoming while enjoying a parade of golf cart floats designed by CU students.

The colorful and vibrant procession made its way through campus and around Bentley Gardens. This year's theme was "Game On." Students of various campus organizations had a week to plan and gather their decorations, however, they only had a couple of hours to get the decorations onto their golf carts.

"Beginning at three thirty is when they could begin putting things onto the golf cart so there was a lot of frantic taping and zip tying in the parking lot earlier," said parade coordinator Megan Canfield.

The celebration will continue Saturday with a chuck wagon cook-off and live music performance. Those events begin at 2:30 p.m.
