LAWTON, OK (KSWO) –A drunken slumber led to a man's arrest when he was found behind the wheel of his truck.
Police saw Adam J. Spottedhorse asleep in his truck with the door open at 3:10 a.m. Monday. Spottedhorse told the officer he drank pitchers of beer, and had a lot of them, before sleeping in his truck in front of a friend's house. When asked to step out of the vehicle, Spottedhorse told officers he would not and declined to take a field sobriety test.
There was a chamber-loaded gun on the seat next to Spottedhorse and officers removed him from the vehicle.
Spottedhorse was placed under arrest for actual physical control of a motor vehicle and possession of a firearm while intoxicated. While Spottedhorse was being escorted to the officer's vehicle, the officers noticed he was stumbling over his feet and swayed from side to side.
As Spottedhorse was being booked into the Lawton City Jail, they learned he had four warrants out of Comanche County.
