LAWTON, OK (KSWO) –A homeless man was hurt Thursday morning when the dumpster he was sleeping in was dumped into a garbage truck.

The 50-year-old homeless man was sleeping in a dumpster in the alleyway behind Ross, off of Northwest Sheridan Road and Gore Boulevard, Thursday morning. Just after 7 a.m., that dumpster was emptied into the back of the garbage truck along with the trash that was in the dumpster. The truck driver saw the man on his camera.

The Lawton Fire Department was called to get the man out of the back of the truck.

The man was taken to Comanche County Memorial Hospital and was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
